Hope Grows Where Education Begins

WHO WE ARE

Your Support Can Change a Child’s Future

Give children the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.

We need you to make a difference

Thousands of children in Kenya dream of going to school but lack the resources to make it happen. Your support can change that. Every donation helps provide tuition, school supplies, and hope for a brighter future.

Join us in giving the gift of education, start with just $12.99 per month and help a child stay in school.

By coming together, we can ensure that no child is denied an education simply because of their financial situation. Your generosity empowers students to learn, grow, and build opportunities that can uplift their families and communities for years to come.

WHAT WE DO

Our Vision

Our vision is to see every child in Kenya, regardless of their circumstances, empowered through education to build a brighter, self-sustaining future. We aspire to create communities where knowledge, faith, and compassion open doors to opportunity and hope. Through the grace of God and the generosity of others, we envision a world where no child is denied the gift of learning or the chance to fulfill their God-given potential.

Our Mission

African Educational Support Inc. is dedicated to supporting the education of children living in extreme poverty in Kenya. Guided by Catholic teachings and principles, we work to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and grow. As a Nebraska public benefit nonprofit corporation, we operate in full compliance with the Nebraska Non-Profit Corporation Act.

Our Values

Our values are rooted in Catholic principles that affirm education as a fundamental human right. We believe in serving all children with dignity and compassion, regardless of religion, gender, or background. We are committed to love, respect, integrity, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their God-given potential.

OUR HISTORY

The African Educational Corporation began on October 27, 2019, following the first gathering of the Nebraska Friends of Kenya, and was officially registered shortly after. Earlier that year, during January–February 2019, a group of friends from Omaha together with Fr. Vincent Sunguti traveled to Kenya on a mission trip. There, they witnessed levels of poverty in village schools that deeply moved them and revealed an urgent need for educational support.

Upon returning to the United States, they felt called to share their blessings and resources to help children in Kenya who were striving for education but lacked proper facilities, learning materials, and adequate staff. This organization was created in response to that need, with the purpose of supporting young students in underserved communities and offering them a better chance at a hopeful future through education.

OUR PROMISES

Stock, Profits and Dividend

The corporation will not issue stock, and none of its assets, earnings, or profits will be distributed to any individual or private party. All resources are dedicated solely to fulfilling our charitable and educational mission.

This policy ensures full compliance with the Nebraska Nonprofit Corporation Act and protects our tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code. Our commitment is to serve the community—not to generate personal financial gain.

African Educational Support Inc. is committed to maintaining the highest level of transparency in all financial and project-related activities. All donated funds are securely held in a U.S.-based bank account with three authorized signatories, as outlined in our bylaws. A corresponding account in Kenya also has three community-appointed signatories to ensure shared oversight and accountability.

Funds are only transferred to Kenya after detailed project budgets are submitted, reviewed, and approved by the U.S. committee. Every funded project is closely monitored, and progress reports are shared with donors to encourage continued support. Quarterly evaluations are conducted to assess effectiveness, and annual external audits are performed in both the U.S. and Kenya to ensure accuracy, integrity, and responsible stewardship of resources.

We rely entirely on voluntary donations from individuals and organizations who share our commitment to supporting children’s education in Kenya. Contributions are received through fundraisers, community events, and personal outreach to generous well-wishers. We are deeply grateful for the support we have received so far and welcome others to join us in this mission.

We accept both monetary and material donations. Because our operations are sustained by volunteers, we kindly request assistance with shipping costs for donated materials whenever possible. Every contribution, no matter the form, makes a meaningful difference.

The corporation holds and may exercise all powers granted to nonprofit organizations under the Nebraska Non-Profit Corporation Act. These powers enable us to effectively carry out our mission and manage our operations in a lawful and responsible manner.

No part of the corporation’s net earnings shall benefit any member, trustee, officer, or private individual. However, the corporation is permitted to provide reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments that directly support the purposes outlined in Article Three of our governing documents.

All officers and members of the corporation serve on a voluntary basis and may contribute their own resources toward operations at their discretion, unless otherwise specified.

The corporation is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five members, with the ability to expand in accordance with the bylaws. Board positions include a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer, and each member’s term of service is defined by the bylaws.
